Product Details

This is a regulated medication. You must upload a valid UK veterinary prescription to complete your order. Vetmedin is a licensed veterinary medicine for the treatment and management of canine heart conditions. It is used to:
  1. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
    • For dogs with dilated cardiomyopathy (weakened, enlarged heart)
    • For dogs with valvular insufficiency (mitral and/or tricuspid valve leakage)
    • Helps improve heart function, ease symptoms, and support quality of life
  2. Preclinical / Asymptomatic Heart Disease
    • Dilated cardiomyopathy in Doberman Pinschers detected via echocardiography
      • Dogs may not show symptoms yet
      • Vetmedin can slow disease progression
    • Myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD)
      • Dogs may be asymptomatic but have a heart murmur and an enlarged heart
      • Treatment delays the onset of clinical heart failure

Instructions

  • Usually given twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart

The typical daily dose range is 0.2–0.6 mg per kg bodyweight, divided into two doses.
