FrontPro
FrontPro Flea Tablets are available in strengths to suit dogs of every size: 11mg (2–4kg), 28mg (4–10kg), 68mg (10–25kg), and 136mg (25–50kg). If your dog weighs over 50kg, use the correct combination of tablets for its weight.
The beef-flavoured chew makes monthly dosing easy. Most dogs take it straight from the hand, with or without food.
At Ashcroft 4 Pets, we stock the full FrontPro range.
This makes it easy to protect your dog against fleas and ticks all year round.
NFA-VPS · Dogs only
FrontPro is a beef-flavoured chewable tablet that treats fleas and ticks on dogs. It contains afoxolaner and is given once a month. One chew keeps killing fleas for 5 weeks and ticks for one month.
It works through the bloodstream, which means bathing and swimming don't affect it. No vet prescription is needed, but as an NFA-VPS medicine it must be supplied by a vet, pharmacist or suitably qualified person (SQP).

FrontPro questions
Is FrontPro prescription only?
No. FrontPro is NFA-VPS, which means you don't need a vet prescription. It still has to be supplied by a vet, pharmacist or SQP, which is how we supply it.
Is FrontPro the same as Frontline?
FrontPro is part of the Frontline range from Boehringer Ingelheim, but it's a different product. FrontPro is a chewable tablet containing afoxolaner. Frontline spot-ons are applied to the skin and contain fipronil.
How long does FrontPro take to work?
FrontPro kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 48 hours. Fleas are killed before they can lay eggs. Parasites have to start feeding to be exposed, which means the risk of parasite-borne disease can't be fully ruled out.
What are the side effects of FrontPro?
Side effects are very rare, seen in fewer than 1 in 10,000 dogs. They include vomiting, diarrhoea, itching, tiredness, loss of appetite and, in isolated cases, tremors, unsteadiness or fits. Most were short-lived and settled on their own. Contact your vet if you're worried about your dog after a dose.
Can puppies have FrontPro?
Yes, from 8 weeks old and 2kg in weight. Speak to a vet first if your puppy is younger or lighter.
Can cats have FrontPro?
No. FrontPro is licensed for dogs only. See our flea, tick and worming treatments for cat options.
