Product Details

As a POM-V medicine, dispatch is subject to receipt and verification of a valid veterinary prescription.

Senvelgo® 15mg/ml Oral Solution is a prescription medicine that treats diabetes mellitus in cats without insulin injections. As a once-daily SGLT2 inhibitor, it helps the kidneys excrete excess glucose naturally, reducing blood glucose levels and symptoms like increased thirst, urination and weight loss — with control often achieved within a week.

Dosing is calculated by bodyweight using the syringe provided, and administered once daily — directly into the cat’s mouth or mixed with a small amount of food, in accordance with veterinary direction. Unlike insulin, it carries no risk of symptomatic hypoglycaemia.

Available in 12ml and 30ml, no refrigeration required.

Brand: SENVELGO® | Legal Category: POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian) | Active Ingredient: Velagliflozin Disclaimer: For full safe-use information, refer to the official datasheet.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need a prescription to buy Senvelgo online?
Yes. Senvelgo is a POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine - Veterinarian) product. You must upload a valid prescription from a registered UK veterinary surgeon during checkout at Ashcroft 4 Pets.
Can Ashcroft 4 Pets ship Senvelgo to Northern Ireland?
No. Due to current UK veterinary medicine shipping regulations and transport restrictions on specific medical liquids, this product cannot be dispatched to Northern Ireland addresses.
What are the side effects of Senvelgo in cats?
Common side effects include mild gastrointestinal changes like soft stools, diarrhoea, or temporary vomiting. Increased urination is normal as the medication clears glucose from the body.
What is eDKA in cats taking Senvelgo?
Euglycemic Diabetic Ketoacidosis (eDKA) is a serious condition where a cat's body burns fat for energy too quickly while blood sugar levels appear normal. Regular urine ketone testing is required during early treatment to monitor this risk.
How do you clean the Senvelgo dosing syringe?
Wipe the outside of the syringe tip with a clean, dry cloth after every use. Do not wash the syringe with water, as moisture degrades the specialised internal plunger lubricant.

Do I need a prescription to buy POM-V pet medicines online?

Yes. POM-V items require a valid prescription from your UK vet.

 Upload your prescription during checkout.

Photos must be clear. If details are wrong or expired, orders can’t be processed. This is standard across UK pet pharmacies.

No. Under UK law, vets must provide a written prescription if you request one for a POM-V medicine. They may charge a reasonable fee for issuing it, but they cannot refuse. This allows you to choose where to buy your pet’s medication, whether directly from your vet or from a registered UK pharmacy such as Ashcroft 4 Pets.

In the UK, most POM-V prescriptions are valid for 6 months, unless your vet specifies a shorter duration. Prescriptions for Schedule 2 or 3 controlled medicines are usually valid for 28 days and are not repeatable. At Ashcroft 4 Pets, we follow these same UK veterinary guidelines to ensure your pet’s medication is dispensed safely and legally.

At Ashcroft 4 Pets, we are a fully VMD-registered and accredited online retailer. This means every prescription and over-the-counter pet medicine we supply is safe, genuine, and dispensed according to UK law.

We follow all Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) rules, and our team checks every prescription carefully before processing. You can order with confidence, knowing your pet’s health is in the hands of experts and all medicines are traceable, legally supplied, and authentic.

In the UK, most repeat prescriptions for POM-V medicines are valid for up to 6 months from the date your vet issues them. You can order multiple times within this period if your vet has authorised repeats.

For controlled medicines (Schedule 2 or 3), the prescription is valid for 28 days only and cannot be repeated. These medicines are strictly regulated due to their potential for misuse.

At Ashcroft 4 Pets, we follow UK law carefully, ensuring all prescriptions are dispensed safely, legally, and in the exact amounts prescribed.

If your vet prescribes a human medicine for your pet under the Cascade, we can usually dispense against that prescription (with the right checks).
