Vetmedin Solution for Injection (pimobendan) 5ml
Vetmedin injection contains pimobendan, the same active as oral Vetmedin.
It’s licensed to start treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs (when the heart can’t pump well enough and fluid builds up, usually in the lungs) caused by leaking mitral or tricuspid valves, or by dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).
Each single-use 5ml vial contains 0.75mg of pimobendan per ml.
Your vet gives it once, as an injection into a vein, in the clinic. It isn’t for use at home.
Don’t use in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis or other conditions where heart output can’t be improved.

Instructions
As a POM-V item, Vetmedin injection is given only by your vet, as a single injection into a vein. It isn’t for use at home.
Your vet works out the amount from your dog’s weight. One 5ml vial covers a dog up to 25kg.
Follow your vet’s directions and the product leaflet.
Once opened, the vial is used straight away and any leftover is discarded.
