For Cats: Licensed for the relief of inflammation and pain in chronic musculo-skeletal disorders (such as Arthritis) and acute sudden injuries. It is also licensed for pain relief following both soft-tissue and orthopaedic (fracture repair) surgeries.
For guinea pigs: Metacam is licensed to relieve mild to moderate post-operative pain following soft-tissue surgery (such as castration) and is the only NSAID approved for use in guinea pigs.
Metacam 0.5 mg/ml Oral Suspension is a palatable, honey-flavoured liquid that most pets accept readily. It can be given directly into the mouth or mixed with a small amount of food. A calibrated dosing syringe is supplied to ensure accurate dosing. Pain relief typically begins within a few hours of the first dose, although response times may vary between animals.
While Metacam is manufactured in 3ml, 15ml, and 30ml sizes, Ashcroft 4 Pets exclusively supplies the 30ml bottle. Unlike the 3ml “starter” size which expires just 14 days after opening, the 30ml bottle offers an extended 6-month shelf life.
