**Vectra 3D for dogs: fleas, ticks and biting flies in one spot-on**

Vectra 3D contains three active ingredients. Dinotefuran kills adult fleas on contact (it overstimulates the flea’s nerves). Pyriproxyfen stops flea eggs hatching and larvae developing for 2 months (it copies an insect growth hormone). Permethrin kills and repels ticks, mosquitoes and biting flies (it disrupts their nerve cells). The three spread across your dog’s skin and coat within the first day.

**Keep cats safe**

Cats can’t break down permethrin. Keep cats away from your dog until the application site is dry, and don’t let a cat groom a recently treated dog. If a cat is exposed and becomes unwell, wash it with shampoo or soap and contact your vet straight away.

**Safe use**

Children shouldn’t handle your dog for 4 hours after treatment, and your dog shouldn’t sleep with anyone on treatment day. Pregnant women shouldn’t apply Vectra 3D, and women who could become pregnant should wear gloves. Keep your dog out of ponds, rivers and streams for 48 hours.

Side effects are rare (up to 1 in 1,000 dogs): redness or itching where applied, restlessness, trembling, tiredness or low appetite. A wet or spiky look to the coat where applied usually fades within 48 hours. Talk to your vet if signs persist.
