**Seresto flea and tick collar for cats**

The Seresto cat collar is made from a polymer matrix (a flexible plastic base that holds the active ingredients and lets them out gradually). It releases its two active ingredients slowly and steadily onto your cat’s skin and coat, and they spread over the whole body. Levels stay high enough to kill fleas for 7 to 8 months and ticks for 8 months.

Imidacloprid kills adult fleas and flea larvae (it blocks nerve signals in the flea, causing paralysis). Flumethrin kills ticks and repels them, which helps stop them biting (it disrupts the tick’s nerve cells).

Fleas start dying as soon as the collar goes on (activity starts straight after fitting). Protection against new ticks starts within 2 days (most die within 24 to 48 hours, before they feed).

**One collar in place of monthly treatments**

A single Seresto cat collar covers fleas for 7 to 8 months and ticks for 8 months. There’s no monthly spot-on or tablet to remember, and no mess, greasy patch or smell on your cat’s coat. Leave it on all the time for the full period.

**How the safety release works**

If the collar gets caught, a ratchet-release lets it widen, giving your cat room to slip free. It also has a built-in breaking point and will snap if enough force is applied.

**Water and bathing**

Seresto Cat Collar is water-resistant and keeps working if your cat gets wet. With monthly shampoos or soaking, tick protection still lasts 8 months, but flea protection starts to fade from the fifth month.

The Seresto cat collar now comes in a moulded fibre carton made from FSC-certified fibres, in place of the old tinplate steel tin. The carton and outer cardboard sleeve both go in your recycling, and the collar and its sealed inner pouch haven’t changed.

**Warnings and restrictions**

- Don’t use on kittens younger than 10 weeks.
- Not recommended for pregnant or nursing cats.
- Don’t let children play with the collar, and don’t let your cat sleep in your bed while wearing it.
- Keep the collar in its sealed bag inside the outer box until you fit it.
- For animal treatment only. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
